What is Transdermal Delivery?

Our Patch Technology

Salonpas® Diclofenac Patch 1% adopts the new styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) technology, allowing the active ingredient to penetrate the affected area without passing through the gastrointestinal system.

Micro-Domain Structure

By adopting SIS Block Copolymer, the active ingredient can be embedded homogeneously to the affected body part.

Improvement of skin permeation

The SIS base material enabled active ingredient to be released easier. Skin permeation is improved.

Diclofenac sodium
effectively alleviates pain at its core

Image of alleviating pain by Diclofenac

Once cells are stimulated due to bruising or overuse of muscles, enzymes in the cell membrane produces a substance called “Prostaglandin”.

This prostaglandin is the source of pain or inflammation.

Diclofenac sodium, which is one of the ingredients for pain relief penetrates deeply into the painful area through the skin and acts directly on cyclooxygenase, an enzyme, thereby inhibiting the production of prostaglandin itself.

Pain and inflammation are immediately suppressed thanks to Diclofenac sodium working on pain directly.
